Q: The xenon light does not switch on after it has been used for a while.
A: There are several possible reasons that a xenon light will not switch on after it has been on for a while. Please go through the following checklist carefully:
Are the batteries depleted because xenon lights are very power demanding? It is also possible that the switch was turned on accidentally when the light was stored away. Consider obatining a fresh set of batteries and replace with the ones in the light.
If the batteries are fresh, check to see if the batteries are working properly.
The light source of the xenon light is a gas-filled bulb. It is similar to a conventional automobile headlamp except in a smaller glass dome. The filament inside the bulb will burn out overtime and will require a replacement bulb. To determine whether the bulb has burned up, look inside the head and check the color of the glass dome. If it is cloudy or gray out, you can purchase a new xenon lamp assembly online for replacement. Alternatively, consider getting a LED light that will not burn out like the xenon lights.
If your light has a tail button switch, check the integrity of the tail-cap switch to determine if it is working properly.
If your light has a remote switch tail-cap, check the integrity of the remote switch tail-cap to determine if it is working properly.
If you have an alternate tail-cap, switch out to rule out the possibility that the tail-cap is defective. If you are interested in purchasing additional tail-caps to expand the functionality of the light you current have, they can be purchased online.
