MDP200 is the most sophisticated and complete illumination package available today for modern military units. It is parts-redundant, serviceable, ergonomical, light-weight, and provides the operators with options to take advantage of both LED and xenon light sources.

The Handheld Light has shock isolation and the batteries are compartmentalized. The detachable pocket clip is tough and fits through MOLLE vest webbing. The Handheld Light essentially serves as the "functional spare parts" for the weapon light since both the light source head and the switch tailcap can be easily swap with the ones on the Weapon Light.
The flip-top F2 Red Filter can be attached for low visibility illumination on the head of either the Handheld Light or the Weapon Light. Both lights can be easily serviced at a remote location with the Field Service Kit, including the option of replacing the front tempered glass lens if it is damaged during an unexpected frontal impact. |

Description
MDP200 Modern Defense Illumination Pack is a complete solution formulated for equipping modern military units with night fighting and urban combat capabilities. MDP200 pack has both a LED Weapon Light and a Xenon Handheld Light. However, all parts including the light sources and switches are interchangeable between the two lights, allowing redundant protection against unexpected failure in the field, as each act as the "functional spare parts" for the other light. This interchangeability also allows the selection by the operator for the power efficient shockproof LED or the high intensity xenon for greater distance as the light source on the weapon light.
MD2 Weapon Light is the most sophisticated tactical light system available today for firearms. It is designed with a side IR illuminator for providing IR illumination. Traditional method of applying an infrared filter over a xenon light to provide supplemental infrared illumination has several drawbacks. One of the most critical disadvantage is during the transition from IR to white light, which often occurs at the most critical juncture, leaving the operator vunerable while taking the hand off the weapon to flip open the filter. Another reason that the application of IR filter is not desirable for modern day tactical illumination is the introduction of LED light as the primary light source. The white light generated by the LED lacks the infrared component. As a result, the application of IR filter over the head of LED light will not generate any significant level of infrared illumination for supplementing night vision goggles. The MD2 Weapon Light provides infrared illumination without giving up many advantages of utilizing LED as the primary light source. With an independent side IR illuminator, tactical operator will always have white light at any time on demand, which can be a major tactical advantage. Unlike the IR filtered xenon light or laser-based illuminator which create a hotspot, the side IR illuminator provides powerful IR light that is smooth and even for friend-or-foe identification.
